"Old man and son searching for their lost forks in Isometropolis"

Zebra Ball-Point Pen on sketchbook paper.
7 1/2" x 5"

The Four Forks - By Phil Leach

Four forks decide that they shall not be tarnished.
They journey forth from the table. So shiny, so varnished.

At the subway they pay and proceed on their way.
To the Isometropolis that grows bigger every day.
It is here that the four forks shall find their fame.
It is here that the four forks will hide away.

But alas an old man has sit down to his breakfast.
He looks for his forks: "My god, they'll regret this!"

"I am sick and tired of these rebellious forks!
I'll track them down with my good son Mort!"

"And when I find those little varmints,
They'll feed me breakfast in my warm apartment!"

Three years pass and the old man is tired
His forks are long gone, rich and retired.
Mort has gone off to the city in a band.
Now the old man sits and eats with his hands.

Hey,
I'm glad you enjoy this enough to second glance it. The idea was to make it a mini-game as well: "Find the four forks"
But I'm afraid its just too easy.

This is just so cool. I love the story behind it. There's so much detail in this... it reminds me of Escher's work, but then again it's so different. :D Brilliant work Phil.

Shoot this looks like pretty interesting especially the isometrical appearence the grounds there is just a whole of to see Though I nevered thought I'd imagine 3 dimensional characters being part of it.
How does surrealism work?

I'm glad you like it.

What can I say, It's just what I like mostly in art. Love the way you play with space. Great job.
